ChartKind collects the information needed to create accounts, generate charts, save readings, process credits, and provide chart-aware chat.
Information We Collect
- Account information, such as email address and authentication identifiers.
- Birth chart information, including name label, birth date, birth time, birth place, coordinates, timezone, chart data, SVG chart files, and readings.
- Chat content you submit and assistant responses generated for your saved charts.
- Optional device location if you choose to use it for transit or location-aware readings.
- Payment and credit metadata, such as checkout identifiers and credit purchase events. We do not store card numbers.
- Analytics information, such as pages viewed, referring links, general device/browser information, and product events like signup, checkout, chart creation, and credit purchase activity.
- Basic technical data needed to operate and secure the service, such as request timing, IP-derived rate-limit keys, and error logs.
How We Use Information
- To create and protect your account.
- To generate, save, load, and delete charts, readings, chat sessions, and credits.
- To generate readings and responses when you ask chart-aware questions.
- To process credit purchases through a secure payment processor.
- To send account, security, purchase, product, and support messages related to your use of ChartKind.
- To send occasional promotional messages, launch updates, offers, or reminders about ChartKind, with an option to unsubscribe from marketing emails.
- To send optional recurring content, such as daily transit readings, only when you choose to sign up for that type of communication.
- To understand how people find and use ChartKind, improve the product, and measure launch campaigns.
- To prevent abuse, debug errors, and improve reliability.
Email Communications
We use your email address for essential account messages, including signup, password reset, purchase, credit, security, support, and service updates. These transactional messages are part of using the app.
We may also send occasional ChartKind news, product updates, offers, reminders, or educational astrology content. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting support@chartkind.com. Opting out of promotional email does not stop important account or purchase messages.
If we offer recurring features such as daily transit readings, weekly summaries, or other scheduled astrology emails, we will send those only after you sign up for that specific feature. You will be able to unsubscribe or turn off those recurring messages.
Cookies and Local Permissions
We use essential cookies for authentication and form security. These are required for the app to work. Device location is requested only when you click a location-related control in the browser. You can deny that permission and enter a location manually instead.
We ask for your choice before loading optional analytics. If we add advertising cookies, remarketing tags, or similar non-essential tracking, we will disclose them here and provide consent or opt-out controls where required. We do not need access to your chart details, birth data, or chat text to measure basic marketing performance.
Service Providers
We use trusted service providers for account authentication, private data storage, payment processing, email delivery, location lookup, analytics, voice generation, and generating chart-aware responses. These providers may include services such as Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Google, xAI, Railway, and similar infrastructure or product tools we use to operate ChartKind. They receive only the information needed to perform those functions and handle it under their applicable privacy and security obligations.
AI-Assisted Features
Readings and chat responses are AI-assisted. To provide those features, relevant chart context, saved readings, and your submitted questions may be processed by an AI service provider. Do not submit information you do not want used to generate a response.
When we describe ChartKind as private, we mean your saved charts, readings, and conversations are tied to your account and are not publicly visible or sold as personal astrology data. Generating an AI response still requires sending the relevant chart and message context to the AI systems that produce the response.
AI systems can make mistakes, miss context, or produce responses that sound confident even when they are incomplete or inaccurate. ChartKind is designed for reflection, journaling, entertainment, and personal insight, not professional advice.
Analytics and Advertising
We use analytics tools to understand how visitors find ChartKind, which pages are useful, and where people drop off before signup or purchase. Analytics may include page views, device/browser information, general location inferred from IP address, referring pages, and product events. We do not use analytics tools to intentionally collect the private content of your chart readings or chat messages.
If we add advertising pixels, remarketing tags, or other non-essential tracking, we will update this notice and provide consent or opt-out controls where required.
Retention and Deletion
Charts and chats are kept so you can return to them later. You can delete individual charts and generated work in the app, or permanently delete your account and its saved data from Account & Data.
We may retain limited records where needed for security, fraud prevention, tax/accounting, dispute handling, legal compliance, or backup recovery. Backup copies are deleted or overwritten on our normal backup cycles.
Your Privacy Choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account by using in-app controls where available or by contacting support@chartkind.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete certain personal information, to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information, to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights. ChartKind does not sell your birth data, chart data, or chat content. To exercise a privacy right, contact support@chartkind.com.
Children
ChartKind is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information to ChartKind, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect account and chart information. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure. If we learn of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and regulators where required by law.
International Users
ChartKind is operated from the United States. If you use ChartKind from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and in other places where our service providers operate.
Changes to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice as ChartKind changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or by email.
